Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about integrating AI-powered game design into your curriculum.

Educators & Classrooms

Is Clever Games COPPA and FERPA compliant?

Yes. Privacy is our foundational pillar. We do not sell student data, we require zero Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to operate the student dashboard, and we ensure that all generational models we utilize (such as Google’s Gemini) are legally prohibited from training on student prompts or data.

How do I deploy Clever Games across my district?

For school-wide or district-wide deployments involving Single Sign-On (SSO) integration (like Google Workspace for Education or Clever.com) and dedicated onboarding, please visit our 'For Schools' page or contact districts@clevergames.com.

Can I review the games my students create before they are published?

Absolutely. The Instructor Dashboard gives educators full oversight. Games remain in 'Draft' until a student explicitly submits them for review, at which point educators can approve them for the class gallery or reject them with constructive feedback.

Can this be used for afterschool programs?

Yes! Schools and districts can partner with Afterschool.org as a provider to seamlessly implement and staff gamified learning programs using the Clever Games platform directly on school sites.

Platform & AI Technology

What programming languages do students learn?

Rather than starting with complex syntax like JavaScript or Python, Clever Games teaches computational logic through 'Prompt Engineering'. Students learn how to iteratively instruct an AI, structure game loops, manipulate bounding box variables, and manage game state. These are core concepts that translate to any programming language later.

How does the AI moderation work?

Safety is our priority. Before a student’s prompt even reaches our game generation engine, it must pass through multiple enterprise-grade moderation APIs. Prompts containing hate speech, violent imagery, PII, or adult themes are immediately intercepted and blocked.

Can students export the games they build?

Yes! Every game is built on a standalone HTML5/Canvas architecture. When a game is published, it receives a dedicated, shareable URL (e.g., clevergames.app/play/my-awesome-game) that can be embedded into portfolios, district websites, or shared with family.

General & Support

What devices are supported?

Clever Games is 100% browser-based with zero installation required. It runs smoothly on Chromebooks, iPads, Macs, and Windows PCs. A modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge) and an active internet connection are all that is needed.

How much does Clever Games cost?

We offer a robust free tier for individual classrooms to get started immediately. For schools requiring advanced analytics, roster sync, and custom templates, we offer affordable enterprise pricing blocks. Contact sales@clevergames.com for a quote.
