Half-Day Sprint

A deeper experience with multiple design rounds, live mentorship, and a showcase at the end where teams demo their games.
Multi-Day Competition
District-wide competition with school qualifiers, themed challenges, and an awards ceremony. The biggest stage for student creativity.
What Makes It Special
Every hackathon has a unique creative theme that students interpret through their game design, sparking original thinking.
Students work in teams of 2 to 4, practicing project management, communication, and the art of creative compromise.
Every event ends with a demo day where teams present their games to judges, classmates, and families.
Winners earn exclusive Clever Coins, in-platform badges, and real recognition that follows them on the platform.

How many students can participate?
There is no hard limit. We have supported events from 20 students at a single site to over 500 across a district. The platform scales automatically.
Do students need prior experience with Clever Games?
Not at all. Hackathons are designed to be accessible. Students learn the platform during the event itself, guided by the curriculum framework.
What do you provide for the event?
We supply the platform, structured curriculum packs, judging rubrics, facilitator guides, and optional trained facilitators through Afterschool.org (utilizing a student-staffing model developed by Student Hires). You provide the venue and students.
Can we combine this with our afterschool or summer program?
Absolutely. Many schools run a hackathon as a capstone event at the end of an afterschool unit or summer camp session.
